Sunrise House is more than a shelter—it’s a lifeline for youth in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas. We provide 24/7 emergency shelter and holistic support for youth, creating a safe space where they can stabilize, grow, and rebuild their lives.

Our History

Founded in 2003 as a grassroots initiative, Sunrise House began with a vision to provide refuge for at-risk youth in Grande Prairie. Operating out of a small converted duplex, the shelter initially offered 12 beds and basic resources.

Over the years, our mission has expanded through community support, increased awareness, and ongoing program development. Despite financial challenges, we reopened in 2010 stronger than ever, laying the groundwork for the enhanced services we provide today.

Our New Building

In December 2023, Sunrise House opened the doors to its new facility, a state-of-the-art building designed to meet the growing needs of youth in crisis. Funded through generous community support, this expanded space includes:
