Getting to Sunrise House

If you’re between the ages of 12 and 17 and facing challenges such as physical or emotional abuse, sexual exploitation, homelessness, family conflict, or fear of returning home, Sunrise House is here to help. Our emergency shelter operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing a safe and supportive environment for youth in need.

What to Expect When you Get Here

Sunrise House works to make sure everyone feels safe, supported, and cared for from the moment they arrive. Here’s how we make that happen:

Warm Welcome

Our intake team will greet you with compassion and ask a few questions to understand your situation and how we can best help.

Safety First

A belongings search will be conducted to ensure safety for all. This process is non-intrusive and involves no physical contact. Prohibited items, such as drugs, alcohol, paraphernalia, or weapons, cannot be brought into the shelter.

Getting Settled

If staying overnight, you’ll be shown to your private room and provided with hygiene supplies, snacks, and anything else you might need.

Quiet Time

We understand the stress of accessing a shelter. Our team will ensure you have the space and support needed to relax and decompress.

dignity and respect

At Sunrise House, we treat everyone with dignity and respect, recognizing the strengths within each individual to promote positive change. Remember, reaching out is a sign of strength, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
